The Islamic Garden
May Allah bless you!
Selma Cook
Sister Amel has had to leave 'Islamic garden' website. We are all sorry to see her go and we ask Allah to bless her in this life and the next for her efforts in developing such a website. She has asked me to take care of the website for her.
May
Allah bless you!
The internet is a strange place. People can really get to know each other but never actually meet. Allah joins the hearts of those whom He chooses. Sister Amel and I became friends through knowing each other on the Net and now she has had to travel and so will not be able to continue working on her website. She has put so much effort into developing it, so that now it is full of various topics and articles, which are relevant to Muslims today. She asked me to take over her site and continue from where she left off. This proposal came as a surprise and I was touched that she should ask me. I find it a pleasure to continue working on her site and I hope I can keep it at the high standard at which she maintained it.
I pray that Allah
will bless her in this life and the next and that this site,
which she developed from its very beginning, will continue to be
a source of reward for her, long after she ceases working on it.
I want to dedicate
this poem I have written to Amel.
A Prayer for my Friend
I send you away
With a tear
and a kiss
And a prayer
for your safe return
With a little
house
To remind you
Of the place
you have
Here with me
A place of warmth
Of love
Of growing in
the light
Your return is
marked by your prayer
Of sincerity
Repairing the miles
Between us
Replacing the spiritual desert
With green leaves and palms
