The term hijab is generally used among Muslims in reference to the head-scarf and long garments that Muslim women wear. Some people use the term just to mean "head-scarf." While this is not technically correct as hijab is not only a head-scarf but also a complete way of dressing (and even living), it is common enough to use it this way that one should be aware of that.
