Building an Islamic Web-Site, Part II:
Using Frontpage Express (The Basics)

Frontpage Express is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor which allows you to build web-pages without knowing HTML. The program comes free with Internet Explorer. Not sure where to find it on your system? If using Windows, simply click on the Start Menu on your taskbar, then on Programs, then on Internet Explorer, then on Front Page Express. Otherwise you may download Internet Explorer if you do not already have it. Microsoft has its own tutorials explaining how to use this program. I don't think that I can necessarily explain how to use Frontpage Express better than the experts can, but I will explain how I learned how to use it on my own without the use of tutorials or the help of others. Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can. I am no computer expert and everything I have learned has been through trial and error.

To get started, simply open the program and start typing. Notice the different options for fonts, colors, sizes and style. You may align to the

center

and right.

Since you are typing anyway, why not type out an article for your future web-site? Experiment with the various options for font, text, etc. Now you are ready to save your document. Not sure how to do that? Go to our lesson on Saving a Document.
