A Prayer for my Friend
This is a poem
that was written for a dear friend of mine, who has just
left to go to a faraway place.
I send you away
With a tear
and a kiss
And a prayer
for your safe return
With a little
house
To remind you
Of the place
you have
Here with me
A place of warmth
Of love
Of growing in
the light
Your return is
marked by your prayer
Of sincerity
Prayer can lift
you unawares
Repairing the
miles
Between us
Replacing the
spiritual desert
With green
leaves and palms
